What a fraud.
We place an order with Allied Electronics for an Adaptec item. Since other authorized distributors were not quoting this item, we were quite skeptical when Allied came back to us with a quote.
Prior to placing a firm order with Allied Electronics, we called and emailed several times to make sure that they can in fact get this item from Adaptec. We received assurance that Allied could fulfill the order, and they even sent us an NC/NR agreement. The Adaptec item was quoted with a 5-week lead time.
Two and a half weeks later, after receiving no purchase order updates from Allied, we called them to make sure everything was on schedule.
To our surprise, the order was basically canceled within the Allied computer system because they can't get the item from Adaptec. It seemed they knew for quite some time they would not be able to fulfill the order, but did not bother to inform us. We had to call them.
Nice job, Allied Electronics. I think you may have replaced TTI as our least favorite supplier.
